Abstract

The TESOL curriculum in native English-speaking countries, especially in immigrant countries such as the United States, is designed to be diverse and personalized in terms of student learning styles, teacher role definition, professionalism of teaching content, multicultural penetration, construction of after-school activities, and use of online resources. The TESOL curriculum design, which emphasizes focusing language instruction on meaningful language use in a broad context, has worked well in English instruction. The TESOL course in native English-speaking countries is forward-looking and exemplary, which provides reference and inspiration for foreign language teaching in China.
