Objective To know the status of occupational commitment and working stability among Full-time staff for nosocomial infection management in traditional Chinese medical (TCM) institutions in Shaanxi, and explore the effect of occupational commitment on working stability. Methods Full-time staff in 41 TCM institutions was selected as research object using stratified cluster sampling method, the questionnaire was prepared to investigate the general situation, the status of occupational commitment and working stability. Results The score of occupational commitment and working stability were respectively 79.50±15.93 and 16.48±3.79, and there had no significant difference in the scores of occupational commitment and working stability among the subjects with different individual and career characteristics (P>0.05). There was a significant positive correlation between the occupational commitment and working stability (P<0.05). Regression analysis found that the proportion of independent variables explaining the total variation in working stability increased from 0.00% to 23.6% after the introduction of occupational commitment, length of service and occupational commitment had the greatest impact on working stability (Beta=-0.394, 0.474). Conclusion The work stability of Full-time staff for nosocomial infection management in TCM institutions in Shaanxi is greatly affected by their length of service and occupational commitment.
